FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to plan, organize and direct all school-wide test scheduling and administration activities. This position will also provide clerical support functions in school library media center.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Organizes the school-wide testing schedules; develops a site-specific test administration plan for each assessment event to include: identifying test administrators and proctors, test locations, and testing groups for regular administration and special accommodations.
• Trains test administrators and proctors on ethical testing, test security, test administration, accommodations, and data reporting procedures.
• Facilitates testing administration within a secure testing environment following the testing code of ethics.
• Maintains up-to-date records on all testing material and students, in both a manual and electronic format.
• Prepares for assessments by recording receipt of materials, counting and verifying testing materials, preparing testing materials for each test administer including scratch and graph paper, pencils, calculators, creating & printing labels, etc.
• Coordinates and directs the activities of test proctors and volunteers to sharpen pencils and assemble testing materials.
• Submits testing materials for scoring and provides testing results to school administration.
• Oversee and ensure the proper handling and security of testing material and security at all times.
• Attends district led training to ensure the proper implementation of individual tests, test security and uniformity of test administration.
• Handles test anomalies and misadministration issues. Investigates and records reported incidents.
• Processes and catalogs books, equipment, and audiovisual materials, enters data into the automated library systems, places security strips on books and maintains online catalog.
• Assists with maintaining media center collection (filing and shelving library resources), performs circulation duties for materials in the media center, provides information on locations of requested materials, and inventories collection on periodic schedule.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding the administration of standardized tests in North Carolina public schools.
• Knowledge of state and district testing requirements.
• Knowledge of ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional organizations and/or federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
• Ability to prepare and train school staff for statewide testing programs.
• Ability to develop, plan and implement staff training in testing and assessment.
• Ability to plan, organize, control, and administer a testing program.
• Ability to read, interpret and provide technical guidance to others on testing policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate with others verbally or in writing to provide direction and technical guidance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Docs.
• Knowledge of library procedures and education practices including ability to process materials involving numbers with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships while remaining flexible in accepting a variety of job assignments.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum: Associates Degree in related field or successful completion of 48 hours college credit PLUS one year work experience in education setting.
• Desirable: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field plus one year work experience as a Testing Assistant/Coordinator or other related position within education setting.

 

Pay Grade 61 - Pay Rate $2,838.63 Monthly - Full-Time - 10 Months
