Teacher Assistant – Language Facilitator

 

FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to provide support to EC students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing  (DHH) through access to pre-teaching, explaining, simplifying, repeating and reviewing content in the classroom.  The Language Facilitator also supports skills such as self-advocacy, listening technology management and care, and overall independence in the educational setting.  The Language Facilitator works under the direct supervision of the DHH Teacher, who maintains full responsibility for instruction, progress reporting and overall development of the student.
